MARTINSVILLE (WSLS 10) - When the holidays are over and it's time to take the tree down, the City of Martinsville is here to help.
The city will recycle live Christmas trees starting Monday, December 28th.
The service will be offered through Thursday, January 14th.
The city says to participate in the program, all residents will have to do is place their discarded trees on the curb.
Crews will then come pick up the trees.
Citizens can also deliver the trees to the Martinsville Jail Annex on Clearview Drive.
After they've been collected, the trees will be ground into mulch and used by the Gateway Streetscape Foundation throughout the community.
