ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - CSX is donating a crude oil tank car involved in the Downtown Lynchburg derailment to a Hazmat facility in eastern Virginia.

The car was one of the three crude oil cars that plunged into the James River when 15 cars jumped the track back on April 30, 2014. The car ruptured during the derailment.

According to the Virginia Department of Emergency Management, the car will be used to teach students how to conduct damage tests during a real incident.
