ROANOKE (WSLS 10) – The man charged with killing a toddler in Roanoke will spend the rest of his life in prison.

Warner Hunter III, 25, was sentenced Thursday afternoon in Roanoke City Circuit Court.

He pleaded guilty in September to killing Aryah Lipford back in July 2015, just days before her 2nd birthday.

The girl's mother, Rachel Quesenberry, was shot multiple times but survived.

During court testimony in September, the Commonwealth's Attorney said the shooting happened over an argument about Hunter's car.
