The U.S.D.A. notes several animals exhibit hair loss, while a camel has a foot deformity. The zoo was also cited for not providing enrichment for primates showing signs of psychological distress.

The zoo was also cited for several facilities issues, such as not fixing a cage, maintaining the fence surrounding the zoo, and not properly cleaning the food-storage freezer.

Staff from the Natural Bridge Zoo say according to their veterinarians, all of their animals are healthy.

In the spring of 2015, the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries revoked the zoo's permit. The zoo reopened after making corrections and passing a U.S.D.A. inspection.
