Franklin, Nelson County schools opening late due to slick road conditions
FRANKLIN COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Slick road conditions throughout Southwest Virginia caused some accidents Friday morning.
In Franklin County, state police worked an accident on Route 220 north - 8.9 miles south of Rocky Mount.
The north right lane was closed. Injuries are unknown.

Franklin County dispatch told WSLS 10 Rt. 122 is very slick - from Rocky Mount into Bedford - they've been receiving numerous calls.
The north east and south east part of Franklin County has reported black ice.
Both Franklin and Nelson County schools are opening two hours late Friday due to the slick conditions.

VDOT's Lynchburg District in south-central Virginia is responsible for approximately 15,000 miles of roads. They are also reporting slick road conditions.

An accident was reported Friday morning in Bedford County. No word on injuries.
