(WSLS 10) - It's an exciting day for five groups across the nation, including one high school in Rockingham County.

On Friday, The TODAY Show announced all five won this year's 'Together We Make Football' contest.

Broadway High School, the only finalist from Virginia, shared the memory of one of its alumni on a national stage.

Story from the TODAY show

Broadway will receive tickets to Super Bowl 50 in San Francisco.

WSLS 10's Rob Manch was live at the school this morning.

The team at Broadway High begins and ends every season with a salute to our nation's fallen military service men and women.

And in the last game, students saluted an alumni, #21 Bucky Anderson, who was killed in Afghanistan in 2010.
