The agency says the graduates began probationary training last February and completed 28 weeks of academic, physical and practical training at the State Police Academy.

They received instruction in more than 100 subjects, including crime scene investigation, survival Spanish, judicial procedures, self-defense, cultural diversity and firearms.

Starting Monday, graduates spend a minimum of six weeks with a field training officer learning their patrol area and day-to-day duties.
