BATH COUNTY (WSLS 10) - An unseasonably warm winter is finally turning around for ski season.

The Homestead Resort has been able to make snow all week. Since Monday, the resort has used more than two million gallons of water through its snow making system.

The average base on the slopes is 10 to 22 inches and they're open to the top.

"We had the opportunity to have a guns on all day yesterday and all day today," said manager David Jurcak. "So with if we have a couple days later this week I believe still is going to be the opportunity overnight to make snow and will have people on the slopes on Saturday."

The Homestead will offer skiing and snow boarding starting Saturday. Night skiing will be available on Saturdays throughout the season.
