NYC restaurant sells $100 donut made of champagne, yams, gold

(WSLS 10) - A Brooklyn restaurant is taking the gold standard to a whole new level.

Manila Social Club is selling a $100 donut.

It is filled with ube mousse, which is purple yam, and cristal champagne jelly.

It is then covered with cristal champagne icing - and then topped off with 24 karat edible gold dust and flakes.

The Golden Cristal Ube Donut was originally created as a limited-edition special - but it became so popular the owner of the shop decided to make it a permanent menu item.
