Valley Metro gunman convicted

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - A man is convicted after taking his handgun out during a fight on a Valley Metro bus.

According to Roanoke Asssistant Commonwealth's Attorney John McNeil, a circuit court judge found Tyrone Lee guilty of attempted murder, using a firearm to commit a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon on Tuesday, January 12, 2016.

Lee faces up to 20 years in prison.

Sentencing is set for Tuesday, January.

Police say, back in September, Lee took out his handgun during a fight with another man and tried to fire it several times, but it malfunctioned.

The driver was able to stop and evacuate all passengers.
