(WSLS 10) - The Norfolk Police Department in Virginia lost one of their own earlier this week.

K9 Krijger died while serving the City of Norfolk overnight on January 11, 2016.

Despite the tragic loss, K9s at the Norfolk Police Department look to have a bright, safe future after CNN Anchor Anderson Cooper donated enough money to get a ballistic vest for every K9.

On Thursday, the Hampton Police Department in Virginia posted the surprising news on their Facebook page:

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));

We are at a loss for words. Following the passing of K-9 Krijger earlier this week, CNN's Anderson Cooper has donated enough money to get a vest for every K9 at the Norfolk PD. Truly amazing.
