More Virginians willing to pay higher taxes to fund education

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - A majority of Virginians believe increased funding will improve the quality of education, and they don't mind paying for it.

That's according to the Commonwealth Educational Policy Institute's latest report.

Sixty-seven percent of those polled said they don't believe schools receive enough funding, and 56% said they would make up that difference by paying higher taxes.

The poll also found the percentage of people who support the idea of raising taxes to fund education has gone up.
