Local sheriff's office honors fallen Norfolk Police Department K-9

NORFOLK (WSLS 10) - The Franklin County Sheriff's Office pays its respect to a Norfolk Police Department K-9 who lost his life in the line of duty.

Tuesday, the Norfolk Police Department held a memorial service for its fallen K-9 Krijger.

Lieutenant Brandt Gawor from the Franklin County Sheriff's Office and three of the departments K-9's attended  the service.

According to the Norfolk Police Department, the beloved dog served his department for three years and faithfully gave his life last week.

The memorial service took place at the Norfolk Police K-9 Range. He was buried at a pet cemetery in Virginia Beach.
