WSLS Staff – ROANOKE (WSLS10) - Virginia's Department of Transportation says it is currently monitoring the forecast in an effort to stay ahead of the upcoming storm.
VDOT spokesperson Jason Bond says if temperatures rise enough, crews can pretreat the roads before Friday.

Additionally, VDOT crews are currently performing maintenance on the equipment.
Employees and contractors have also been contacted about the weather threat, so that they will be ready in case of an emergency.
