BLACKSBURG (WSLS 10) - Those who are impacted by mental health struggles now have another option for support in the New River Valley.
The Unitarian Universalist Congregation Church in Blacksburg just launched two support groups this month.
One is for those dealing with a mental illness, and the other is for family members and caretakers.
The church started the groups after many in the congregation expressed a desire for help.
Organizers discovered only one current support group in the area, so they partnered with New River Valley Community Services and Virginia Tech to start two of their own.
The groups meet the third Monday evening of each month from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation.
