ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - After a non-profit has made a difference in a Franklin County man's life he's hoping to spread the word for others in a similar situation - help is out there.

At the end of summer, The Independence Fund delivered to veteran Jim Lynch his very own Action Track Chair at no cost.

The motorized chair allows Jim to independently hunt and fish even though his MS has left him wheelchair bound.

"I can get out in the woods," Jim explained. "I don't have to bug my wife to drag a deer for me. I'm independent and that feeling is just awesome."

Jim wants other veterans in the area to know The Independence Fund is there and willing to help them also remain independent and mobile.
