CHRISTIANSBURG (WSLS 10) -- Christiansburg Parks & Recreation will host an internet safety course for parents on Tuesday, February 23 from 7-9 p.m.at the Christiansburg Recreation Center.
The course is free. It will provide a basic overview of the cyber world and how it may impact children.
Officers from the Christiansburg Police Department Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit will teach the course. The presentation will share information and safety tips about the most popular apps used by kids today and discuss issues like self-victimization and cyberbullying.
Registration is required. Parents and guardians have until Friday, February 19 to register for the course.
