Man police say robbed Family Pharmacy turns himself into police
ROCKY MOUNT (WSLS 10) The search has ended for a pharmacy robbery suspect. The suspect surrendered at the Franklin County Jail in Rocky Mount Friday evening.
"We have actively pursued leads in this case since the robbery Tuesday evening," said Rocky Mount Police Chief Ken Criner. "We are glad the search has ended peacefully and without further threat to the public or the police officers working this case."
Five felony warrants and one misdemeanor were issued for the arrest of Joshua Wayne Cundiff, 26, of Boones Mill in the armed robbery of Family Pharmacy Tuesday evening. A white male believed to be Cundiff entered the business at about 5:20 p.m. and produced a handgun. He demanded the pharmacist turn over narcotics, then fled with an undetermined amount of pharmaceutical drugs.
Searches Tuesday evening and investigations at several other locations did not locate Cundiff.
"We appreciate the hard work of our Rocky Mount Police officers and investigators in following the leads and information in this case," Criner said. "We also appreciate the support of other nearby law enforcement agencies and the State Police in offering search assistance."
