Danville Police looking for 15 year old connected to shooting

DANVILLE (WSLS 10) - The Danville Police Department is investigating a shooting that sent one person to the hospital.

It happened around 11 a.m. in the 1000 block of Guerrant Street.

Danville Police are looking for Jaylen Davon Hamlett, 15, of Danville in connection to a shooting that sent a man to the hospital on Monday. Police have charged him with Aggravated Malicious Wounding, Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, and Underage Possession of a Firearm.

Police say Hamlett is considered armed an dangerous. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately

When officers got to the scene, they found a 30-year-old Danville resident on the ground outside of a home suffering from what appeared to be gunshot related injuries.

The victim, who's currently listed in serious condition, was taken to Danville Regional Medical Center and later transferred to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
