Roanoke artist to re-create "LOVE" sculpture stolen before SML unveiling
BEDFORD COUNTY (WSLS10) - Work is now underway to re-create the "LOVE" sculpture stolen before it's unveiling at Smith Mountain Lake.
The Roanoke artist told us the letters stolen from his driveway have yet to be returned. Now, he plans to start over from scratch. The artist was commissioned to create a sign as part of the 'Virginia is for Lovers' campaign.
The letters were stolen yesterday morning before they were scheduled to be revealed as a part of Smith Mountain Lake's 50th anniversary celebration.
An investigation into the stolen items continues.
