INDEPENDENCE (WSLS10) - On Saturday, people in Grayson County participated in the "Bid for a Cure" auction. Participants had the chance to bid on sports memorabilia and items like toys and vacation packages. Proceeds from the event go toward to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Susan Haga, an organizer of the event, said the cause hits close to home for her. She has two children who have the disease. They hope to help find a cure and are glad for the community's support.
'It's wonderful, its wonderful I have two children with cystic fibrosis and so we are working hard to find a cure for that and this community has supported us phenomenally," Susan Haga the event coordinator said.
Organizers said in the last 15 years of the auction they have raised over $500,000.
