Vendors raise money to pay medical bills for Roanoke City Sheriff Deputy battling cancer

ROANOKE COUNTY (WSLS10) - Dozens of vendors are giving their profits to help pay medical bills for a man who serves others. Organizers held a craft show Saturday afternoon at the Life Church in Roanoke County. The goal is to raise money for Roanoke City Sheriff Deputy Tim McCoy who was diagnosed with colon cancer.

Over 30 vendors participated. People could bid on purses at a silent auction and there was a police car show.

"I am overwhelmed, to say overwhelmed is an understatement, the turnout we've had, the support that we've had, we're blessed so blessed to have all the people who have come today, Jeannie McCoy, Tim's wife said.

The goal is to raise over $3,600.
