ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Students and faculty at North Cross School mourn the loss of their two classmates. Patrick and Logan McKinnon attended the prep school. The brothers died in an early morning house fire over the weekend.

Patrick was a 4th grader and Logan was in kindergarten. On Monday, counselors were on campus to answer questions and to help people express their feelings about the incident. School leaders said the death of the McKinnon brothers has been tough on the close-knit community

"If you didn't have a McKinnon in your class, you still knew them. You saw them at carpool and at the playground," said Dr. Christian Proctor, headmaster of North Cross School. "You played soccer or lacrosse with Patrick. The whole Early Childhood Program knew Logan. It's tough."

Family Services of Roanoke Valley provided counselors. In addition, staff from Virginia Tech who were trained in grief counseling were on hand to help the North Cross School community.
