Governor McAuliffe's Roanoke economic announcement
ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Governor Terry McAuliffe is in downtown Roanoke for another major economic announcement Tuesday. City officials are not confirming the nature of the governor's remarks but the timing is right for the long-awaited announcement of whether Deschutes Brewery, headquartered in Bend, Oregon, has selected Roanoke as the location for its east coast distribution center.

The center would create approximately 100 jobs and give Roanoke a bit of a win over Asheville, North Carolina which is the other city said to be in the running.
Roanoke City council candidate Duane Howard says state leaders have told him that Deshuetes is coming to Roanoke. Howard says the deal has been "signed, sealed and delivered."
Virginia Craft Beer magazine has also reported the brewery is coming to the Star City.
Deschutes is on tap to pour beer for the first time ever at the For the Love of the Brew Festival this weekend.
"It's not just about saying 'please come here' it's saying 'you're invited to the party that is southwest Virginia' we're not pleading for folks, we're telling them how great it is here. The benefit of being here is monumental," said JD Sutphin, Big Lick Entertainment President.
Deschutes2Rke has been a major social media campaign on twitter and facebook.
