Glenvar HS grad wins ACM Songwriter of the Year Award

Ross Copperman won the 2016 Academy of Country Music Award for Songwriter of the Year on Tuesday.

Copperman was one of the few winners revealed on Tuesday.

He graduated from Glenvar High School and also attended James Madison University.

Other winners that have already been announced include Chris Stapleton, Kelsea Ballerini and Old Dominion.

The 51st ACM Awards air Sunday, April 3, on CBS.
