BLACKSBURG (WSLS 10) - Virginia Tech architecture and design students are putting their skills to work to help hungry children.

For the fourth year, the university is participating in the nation-wide Empty Bowls movement.

This year, about 15 students handcrafted 300 bowls. On April 6, community members can come to purchase a bowl and have dinner.

All proceeds go to Micah's Backpack, an organization that provides meals to Montgomery County school kids.

This year's goal is to sell all 300 bowls, which would raise about $3,000.
