Red Sox preparing for Opening Day in Salem

SALEM (WSLS 10) - The Salem Red Sox are getting ready for Opening Day.

The team begins its season Thursday night against the Carolina Mudcats at 7:05.

On Wednesday, crews worked on last-minute finishing touches at Lewis Gale Field after an entire year of planning.

Ryan Shelton, the president and GM of the Red Sox, explained what goes into creating a positive game-day experience."

Painting in certain areas that needed touch up in off-season. We're cleaning a lot in the ball park a lot of pressure-washing after some repairs done. We want to make sure all the season ticket holders and all the fans that are coming out tomorrow night for opening night are going to have a great clean comfortable seat to sit in," said Shelton.
