SALEM (WSLS 10) -  A clipper system has moved into the Southwest Virginia region Saturday morning and produced snow and sleet in some areas of the district and in the higher elevations. Snow is being reported in some areas that is combined with high winds which may cause low visibility. Virginia Department of Transportation crews are monitoring roads and are prepared to plow and treat roads as necessary.

Motorists should be aware of possible slick road conditions on Interstates, primary and secondary roads, particularly in the higher elevations. With these low temperatures, patches of ice are possible on roadways and bridges and have been reported on I-81 at exits 118 in Montgomery County, exit 89 in Pulaski County and in Carroll County on I-81 and I-77.
