BLACKSBURG (WSLS10) - Parents who have children in the New River Valley will have another option for daycare. This weekend, staff celebrated the opening of the "Radford Early Learning Center."
Volunteers at the center held a ribbon cutting ceremony Saturday morning.
The facility includes a small gym and a preschool room. Workers said they have been looking to get the facility built over the last four years after they conducted a study and saw there was a need for additional childcare.
"Its a great resource for our community and it provides a needed early learning experience that is missing in our community," Agida Manizade, with the Radford Early Learning Center said.
The center will teach about 140 children ranging in ages from 6 weeks to 12 years old.
