Sheriff: Halifax Co. shooting was domestic dispute
HALIFAX COUNTY (WSLS10) - The Halifax County Sheriff's Office is wrapping up its investigation into Saturday's shooting.
The sheriff's office now confirms that it was a domestic dispute between a man and a woman.
The man, who the sheriff's office is still not identifying, was shot in the thigh at a home on Solomon Road at about 1:30 p.m.
He was taken to Duke University Hospital in North Carolina where he was treated and released.
The sheriff's office is still working to bring charges against the suspected shooter, but says the man is being very cooperative and that is helping.
"It makes the investigation a whole lot more easier to solve," said Capt. Darnell Barksdale. "When a victim is willing to come forth and talk to us, that's always good."
So far, no arrests have been made.
