Two students, driver hospitalized after Washington Co. school bus crash

WASHINGTON COUNTY (WSLS 10) - State police responded to a school bus crash Tuesday morning in Washington County.

At 8:41 a.m., Trooper M.D. Hagy responded to a Washington County Public Schools bus crash on Route 681, Woodland Hills Drive.

The bus was traveling west on Route 681 when it ran off the right side of the road and into a ditch, according to state police.

The driver, 74-year-old James A. Walker, of Abingdon, was transported to Johnston Memorial Hospital for treatment. He was wearing a seat belt.

Two elementary school students were on the bus when it crashed. Both were transported to Johnston Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation at this time.
