ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - A judge found the man accused of groping a woman on the Roanoke River Greenway guilty on Thursday.

Alexander Billow, 31, was convicted of abduction with the intent to defile for the August 9, 2015 incident. He turned himself in two days later.

Last Thursday, he waived his right to a jury trial.

Billow exposed himself to a woman jogging on the Greenway, groped her, tried to remove her clothing and tried to pull her off the path toward the river.

She was able to escape unharmed.

Felony abduction with intent to defile is a Class 2 felony and carries a penalty of 20 years to life in prison along with up to a $100,000 fine.

A date for sentencing has not yet been set.
