BLACKSBURG (WSLS10) - Leaders at Virginia Tech are making sure their students are not only physically healthy, but mentally in shape as well.

The National Intramural Recreation Sports Association said Virginia Tech is leading college campuses nationwide for integrating their overall well-being facilities.

Virginia Tech Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs, Chris Wise said students now have access to the gym, the Cook Counseling Center, a health center and services for students with disabilities inside McComas Hall.

"Students need to know there's more to life than academic side," Wise said. "It's an important piece and that's one we support, but there are opportunities for a healthy life down the road and it relies on a lot of things a lot of dimensions that act all together."
