Virginia Tech professor recognized in Time Magazine

BLACKSBURG (WSLS 10) - Dr. Marc Edwards is named in Time Magazine's 100 most influential people of 2016.

Edwards is a Civil and Environmental Engineering professor bought national attention to the lead contaminated water in Flint.

He's also working with Michigan's governor to find long term solutions to Flint's water system.

Virginia Tech is proud one of their own is getting recognized nationally for their work.

"We couldn't be more proud of Dr. Marc Edwards and the work he has done, with his students and fellow researchers for over the past year, Time magazine is just another honor of the really incredible work he has done," Mark Owczarski, spokesperson for Virginia Tech said.
