ROANOKE (WSLS10) - Soccer fans are taking a proactive approach to gettinh children from all backgrounds interested in the sport. Landon Moore, opened the Star City Soccer Center in Roanoke, he said it's the only indoor soccer facility.
His goal is to teach children from all parts of the city the basics of the game.
"Something that parents can take advantage of, something for children and really focusing on the children and give them that foundation for life and for soccer," Moore said.
He said the facility will be a venue for the Soccer Festival later this year around Thanksgiving. Moore says the money raised will go to educating refugees in Roanoke.
