If he makes the team, he'll be the first player from Averett to ever play in the CFL or the NFL.

Averett's head football coach, Cleive Adams said whether he makes the team or not this will be a big boost for the university.

"It's going to inspire our aspiring athletes moving forward," said Adams.

Michael said he's confident in his chances.

"I would say I had a really good mini camp," Michael explained. "I did my thing on special teams like i always do, like I did at Averett. So, that's how most rookies get on the team."

He is now waiting to find out if he'll be selected to participate in the Tiger Cats' pre-season camp, which starts on May 24th.
