Danville mayor emphasizes importance of the "Make Danville Shine" campaign
DANVILLE (WSLS10) - An annual campaign to help beautify Danville is now underway.
Make Danville Shine is designed to encourage residents to clean up their yards and homes.
For all of May, the city will allow residents to set large piles of yard waste and household items at their curb to be picked up.
The city is also waiving various fees, such as the fee for disposing of old tires; however, there is a limit of four tires per household.
"Taking pride in your property not only makes you feel good it also increases the value of your property," said Danville Mayor Sherman Saunders. "And, by increasing the value of your property, [your property] increases the value of our city."
Theer also said there will also be a home repair and lawn care expo held at the Danville City Market from 8 a.m.- 2 p.m. on Saturday.
