State Police investigating deadly crash in Pittsylvania County

PITTSYLVANIA CO. (WSLS 10) - Virginia State Police are investigating a single vehicle crash that left one person dead.

According to police, it happened Sunday May 1 at 7:56 p.m. on Route 750 near Route 703.

Police say a 2004 Ford F-250 was driving north on Whitmell School Road when it ran off the right side of the road, hit a utility pole and flipped.

The driver, Ronald Curtis, 31, of Dry Fork died at the scene. He was wearing a seat belt.

Police say speed was a factor in the crash.
