Vinton (WSLS10) - The threat of bad weather did not stop the 61st Annual Vinton Dogwood Festival. On Sunday, kids and adults went to the carnival, enjoyed rides and played games.
The five day event brought in live performances, food, and even a parade to the downtown Vinton area. Organizers said it brings in thousands of people to Vinton every year and they're happy to see this event continue for over 6 decades.
"I appreciate the vision that our town's heritage our town's fathers, mothers had 61 years ago to come up with the idea to implement it," Mary-Beth Layman, with the Special Programs for the Town of Vinton said.
