Planned Franklin Co. industrial park could generate $100 million in first five years
FRANKLIN COUNTY (WSLS 10) - A new business park coming to Franklin County in 2017 is expected to make a big economic impact.
In December, 2015, County leaders bought Southway Farm, between Rocky Mount and Boones Mill, for $42 million and the plan is to build a next generation business park.
The county recently completed an investment analysis and learned the park could generate $100 million within the first five years of operating. After 20 years, it could bring in more than $300 million.
The county is getting ready to build service roads and install sewer lines to the lot.
