MARTISNVILLE (WSLS10) - Patrick Henry Community College's expanded IDEA Center is now open on Fayette St. in Martinsville.
The center expanded from about 1,400 sqft. to about 14,000 sqft.
It's one of only three internationally recognized Fab Labs in the state.
People can come and take a class to learn how to use 3-D printers, high powered laser cutters, sand blasters, and more.
Once they do that, they can use the machines as much as they want to design and create products and work with experts to market their products.
"This is a partnership between Patrick Henry Community College, New College Institute, and the economic development corporation to help people create businesses around their ideas to help our local economy," explained Matthew Wade, Fab Lab Coordinator.
