Lynchburg police searching for tire slashers

LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) - Lynchburg police are looking for whoever is responsible for slashing tires of several heavy equipment vehicles this week.

From May 20 to 23, the tires of a backhoe and several dump trucks, belonging to Miller Pipeline, were cut and deflated.

In total, 13 tires were punctured multiple times, with a total loss of approximately $3,000.

The vehicles were parked across from 1612 Concord Turnpike.

The Lynchburg Police Department is seeking information to help identify the type of tool that could be responsible for the damage, as well as any person that may have been involved.

In addition to the regular Crime Stoppers reward, Miller Pipeline is offering an award of $500 for any information leading to the arrest of an individual.
