Danville students donate to build home in Appomattox
DANVILLE (WSLS 10) - Donations for the Rebuilding Hope project in Appomattox County are rolling in and people of all ages are giving.
Tuesday, WSLS 10 announced a partnership with God's Pit Crew and Spirit FM to build Nancy Harris a new home after she lost her husband and house in February's tornado.
Fourth graders at Carlisle School in Danville presented God's Pit Crew with a check for $174.71.
Ms. Luffman's class was tasked with creating a business plan and marketing strategy for a fundraiser.
The students sold lemonade for 25 cents a cup.
They asked that the money go toward rebuilding hope for Nancy.
"We can't give her back everything the storm took from her, but we can give her a new start," explained God's Pit Crew founder, Randy Johnson.
