CHRISTIANSBURG (WSLS 10) - Wade's Supermarket in Christiansburg is remembering Montgomery County Deputy Lt. Lewis Heslip by giving to one of his favorite causes.
The grocery store is asking shoppers to buy a can or bag of dog food, which will be donated to the Montgomery County Animal Shelter in Heslip's honor.

Heslip spent time nearly every week volunteering at the shelter because of his love for dogs.
He passed away Tuesday after collapsing during an off-duty bike ride.
