ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Parts of the United States are bracing for another round of torrential rains and potential tornadoes.

Parts of Texas are already underwater following a deadly string of storms. That's why a local American Red Cross volunteer is heading to Texas on Tuesday night to help with the ongoing disaster relief operation.

Chuck Hamblin will be working as a kitchen manager.

"I think anybody who has time should go out and help their neighbor. Not only do I go on national disasters, but I volunteer here locally for thousands of hours," said Hamblin. "It's the feeling and enjoyment you get to get when you help somebody."

This is his eighth year volunteering and his third mission in the Lone Star state this year. He was there in march after flooding from the Sabine River left thousands without homes.
