In exchange for his plea, Hamlette's attempted robbery and attempted malicious wounding charges were dropped.

Police say Hamlette stabbed 23-year-old Christopher Heater in November.

The employee confronted him as he tried to break into cars on Memorial Avenue.

Hamlette also tried to rob and stab a second person before he was arrested.

Sentencing is scheduled for July 20 at 9 a.m.
