Virginia Tech joins clean energy initiative

BLACKSBURG (WSLS 10) - Virginia Tech has joined forces with other universities across the country to advance clean energy.

The U.S. Department of Energy is spending $20 million to form the University Coalition for Fossil Energy Research.

The coalition, which includes eight other universities, will look for ways to preserve the environment during fossil fuel use.

Penn State was selected to lead the coalition.
