ROCKY MOUNT (WSLS 10) - Dozens of laid off Modukraf workers and their families took part in a resource information session Tuesday.

This comes after 150 workers lost their jobs when the parent company filed for bankruptcy earlier this month.

The Virginia Workforce Network at the Franklin Center in Rocky Mount is helping connect them with the right resources, including unemployment benefits and job training.

The center director told us many former Modukraf employees are struggling to make ends meet.

"It's how to pay your bills, how to take care of your family and sometimes when people have been working for 15 to 20-years or longer, they are at a loss," commented Kathy Hodges, the executive director for Workforce Development for Franklin County. "They don't always know what resources are available."

The center also helps with personal job searches. It's open five days a week.
