Public art soon to be on display in Roanoke

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Art will be on display throughout the Star City.

City staff said parts of the area, like the columns under the Interstate 581 bridge near Tazewell Avenue, will be painted.

They also said they're putting in a sculpture where Campbell and Patterson Avenues meet.

"I think it's terrific to be putting art in some neighborhoods, actually these two gateway pieces I think will draw a lot of pride for the neighbors and citizens in the area," said Susan Jennings, the arts and culture coordinator for the city.

Some of the art will be on display early next month.
