CHRISTIANSBURG (WSLS 10) - One organization is volunteering its time to revamp a home as part of NeighborWorks Week.

Members with Community Housing Partners (CHP) are doing some minor repairs, like fixing the floor, painting the walls and landscaping to a home owned by the New River Family Shelter.

The NRFS provides homes to those in-need, like a family who lost their home in a fire.

CHP workers are glad to be able to help the non-profit organization.

"We thought it would be a perfect fit since Community Housing Partners create safe and affordable housing. We thought it would be great to give back to another non=profit in the community that needed our help," said Melissa Hammond with CHP.

The materials to used to revamp the home came from The Home Depot.
